How to Pick an Outfit for a Pear Shape.
The pear shaped body has a wider hip and backside area than the upper body. Think of a pear and you get the image of the pear-shaped body. It's a voluptuous and beautiful shape and is ideal for many types of clothing. However, this shape can also create some challenging issues in the case of certain tight or close-fitting clothes. Making the most of your beautiful figure is the purpose of this guidance.Method 1 Upper body.
1. Create some extra visual weight on the top half of your body to balance out the over all look. Some great examples of this would be big hair, big hats, big necklaces, big bust or a stylish jacket.
Horizontal stripes or ruffles on top can work well. However, if you have a large bust, avoid the ruffles.
Avoid wearing shapeless tops.
2. Take care not to undo the look. While you want to add volume up top, be careful not to draw attention to the thighs or waist this is easily done by wearing hip hugging jeans, pants or fitted skirts.
3. Wear shirts or dresses with capped shoulders. Frills or sequins on the shoulders will also give the appearance of broader shoulders to balance out your curvy bottom.
4. Prefer flared dresses. These will flow beautifully around your lower body and give you plenty of shape around the middle and top of your body.
Sleeveless dresses will draw the eye to your upper body.
5. Let jackets fall below your hips. If they are shorter than this, they tend to accentuate the pear shape effect.
Avoid wearing a jacket that has a pattern that cuts off at the base. This draws the eye right to the place where the jacket ends.
Method 2 Lower body.
1. Choose trousers which are cut with plenty of room around the thighs. Choose well tailored trousers for the best effect.
Darker tones work well with such dresses.
Avoid stiff fabric around the bottom zone.
2. Choose skirts and pants that elongate your body. Choose straight lines for the best effect; A-line skirts are ideal.
Again, darker tones are best.
Avoid anything that clings to the hips, such as pencil skirts.
3. Sidestep capri pants. Capri pants will accentuate the pear shape and can even increase the sense of size around your bottom zone.
4. Choose wide-legged jeans. Always wear good quality jeans.
Method 3 Shoes.
1. Wear heels. Almost any height of heels will help to give a sense of more elongation. However, do not wear really high heels.
Peep-toe shoes are a good choice.
2. Choose boots that cut off just under the knee. Avoid wearing any low-cut boots as these give the impression of chunkiness.
3. If wearing flats, choose rounded ones. Pointed flats will accentuate the pear shape; on the other hand, pointed high heels are fine.
Method 4 Pregnancy.
1. Choose maternity clothing that fits comfortably. That is the number one driver, as you don't want to feel constricted or overheated. Most maternity clothing will fit the pear shape just beautifully, so enjoy the shopping.
2. Use the same principles outlined above. Just ensure that the fabric has plenty of stretch without being saggy. Darker colors may be overwhelming during pregnancy, so feel free to lighten up the colors to befit your mood.
Question : So, all that is really being said here is that I should try my hardest to look like an hourglass? Will this really bring out my beauty?
Answer : The hourglass figure is just something that society says is most beautiful. In reality, all body types are beautiful, and looking like an hourglass won't necessarily bring out your beauty.
Question : What if I don't want to look to fancy or I'm a tomboy?
Answer : Being pear-shaped myself, I really love Capri jeans and graphic tees.
Tips.
These are simply guidance and like any guidance, are not foolproof. There may be some suggestions here that work in entirely the opposite way for your figure. And that's just fine; only you really know your own body and ultimately, should be guided by what you know works for you. Fashion advice only seeks to guide, not set rules in concrete. If you find that pointed flats slim you and tight jeans work a treat, go with it. It's your body and it's your choice.
